User Interface Engineer 3 Magento
We have an immediate contract opportunity with a large F500 client in theTimonium, MD area.
o Accountable for the design and development of the Web User Interface for a product feature or subsystem
o Spends most of the time developing Web Development code and cross browser testing, and efficiently produces elegant, clean modular code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction.
o Code is well-commented, easy to maintain, and can be reused across a sub-system or feature (for example a portion of a test framework or library).
o Code is thoroughly tested and is reliable with very few bugs.
o Beginning to lead feature or sub-system Web design reviews and participates in code reviews for their areas
Job Requirements
o HTML5, CSS3, CSS Preprocessors (LESS, SASS, others), Responsive Web Design, Accessibility WCAG 2.0 subversion systems (SVN, GIT), JS (Prototype, jQuery), PHP/Mysql basics
o Experience with Magento CE/EE 1.x is required
o Experience in building large scale eCommerce Stores
o Experience in web based stack like JavaScript (Object oriented and Popular libraries like jQuery, Prototype, YUI etc.)
o Passion for HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) and interactive design principals on the Web.
o Must be able to create interfaces that are fast, consistent across browsers, reusable widgets and demonstrate an intimate knowledge of browser quirks and best practice.
o Must be able work with User Experience Designers, Product Managers and Backend teams to define solutions that meet or exceeds users needs.
o Meets the project timelines with high quality code practices also incorporating innovation and constant improvements.
o Good knowledge of performance, scalability, availability, and security best practices for the Web.
o Knowledge in inferring from site based performance and debugging tools like YSlow, Firebug, Charles etc. for Site speed and page weight analysis.
o Knowledge of Site Accessibility best practices and tools like JAWS etc.
o Knowledge of Responsive Web development and best practices
