Job Overview:
Kolmac is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Floater Addiction Counselor to join our dynamic team of addiction treatment professionals.
The Floater Addiction Counselor will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless and effective delivery of addiction counseling services across our various treatment programs.
The Floater will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of various departments within our organization.
This position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing addiction challenges.
Kolmac is seeking a full time IOP Addiction Counselor, (12:
30 to 8:
30pm) in our Maryland locations Job Functions Include:
Flexibility and adaptability to work across different programs and locations.
Fill in for absent or busy employees, helping to maintain productivity and ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service.
Fill gaps in the work schedules and rotate around different locations.
Provide assistance and support in various locations for the organization.
Is expected to hold a full-time IOP or OP caseload and provide direct care at least 65% (26 billable hours) of weekly work hours.
Is skilled in Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and assists in training clinical staff in these approaches.
Engages in case management sessions, including assessments, collaborative treatment planning with SMART goals, discharge planning, partnership with referral sources and/or other providers.
Is responsible for meeting all established clinical metrics including attendance rates, successful program completion rates, and conversions through the Kolmac continuum of care.
Carries the on-call phone for one week, several times through the year, supporting the needs of any patients in crisis outside of business hours.
Assist in covering (IOP and OP) groups (as needed).
Provide evaluations for substance use disorders using DSM-V and ASAM level of care criteria.
Develops a treatment alliance with patients that is mutual, collaborative, and individualized, meeting changing clinical needs throughout treatment.
Facilitates addiction psychotherapy groups for both IOP and OP.
Provides individual addictions-focused counseling sessions when indicated.
Prepares and presents addiction/recovery education presentations to all patients.
Works with medical staff and clinical supervisor to meet the co-occurring psychiatric needs of patients.
Coordinates care for all appropriate support services, including referral sources, family members, and other support providers.
Attends and is prepared for professional meetings, including treatment team.
Responsible for completing documentation within 24 hours of competing a service and meeting state and CARF standards.
Completes discharges within 48 hours of patient completing services.

Experience:
Must Haves:
Strong clinical, verbal, and writing skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal supervisionIs engaging with patients, while promoting and maintaining accountability.
Flexible and creative team playerVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work where needed, when neededMinimum of 2 years' experience working in the SUD field.
Experience and comfort with working in an electronic medical record.
Knowledgeable and well-versed in various recovery modalities, including SMART Recovery, Women for Sobriety, 12-Step, Recovery Dharma, etc.
Ability to travel to various sitesA minimum of three years of continuous sobriety is required - five years is preferred.
Pluses:
Group psychotherapy experience preferred, but not required.
