The Ophthalmic Technician/Clinical Trainer is responsible for interviewing and assisting in the selection process for new clinical team members and for the methodical, timely training per established guidelines, of both new and seasoned team members.
This position is also responsible for assisting, when the demands of business require, our ophthalmologists and optometrists in the exam lane.
Travel between our various practice offices is required.
Our Top Candidates will have at least 5 years of previous, verifiable experience as a clinical ophthalmology trainer or lead technician in an ophthalmology practice.
Candidates are required to hold a COA with a COT being highly preferred.
Eyecare Services Partners will now only consider candidates who can verify prior to hire that they either have been fully vaccinated against the Covid 19 virus or have started the vaccine process by having their initial dose before starting in their new position and are committed to completing that process within 30 days of starting work.
Exemptions for medical and religious concerns will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the interviewing and selection process of all new clinical technician candidatesUtilization of current technician training resources for the training of new team membersUtilization of current training resources in the required ongoing training of all clinical team membersDevelop training plans for both new and current team members based on their title and responsibilities and current level of knowledge In conjunction with the management team, develop plans of action and oversee subsequent training for team members that exhibit apparent shortcomings in testing proceduresWork to update training procedures where appropriate and where new procedures or equiment for testing come onlineOther Occassional
Responsibilities:
Initial work up of patients such as gathering chief complaint, ocular and systemic history, past family and social history and complete review of systemsMeasuring visual acuities, intraocular pressures, refraction, pachymetry and morePerforming external slit lamp examination and administering eye drops Performing tests aimed at diagnosing ocular ailments, disorders, and other problemsAssists with in-office procedures and injections ensuring proper informed consent is obtainedAssists with patient education.
Scribe in electronic medical records format to document the patient visit and examinationAssist with stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness of patient exams room or office and other administrative or clinical duties as assigned
Qualifications:
At least five years of experience in a work up position within an ophthalmic practice.
Lead position highly preferredCOA certification is required.
COT certification is highly preferredPrevious clinical training responsiblities in an ophthalmology practice is highly preferredBS degree, preferrably towards a secondary eduication teaching path is highly preferredKnowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology Knowledge of EHRMust be willing to travel to other offices to meet the demands of team trainingPossess strong communication and interpersonal skillsBe a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detailDemonstrate superior computer skillsHighly energetic with positive attitudeMust be able to walk and stand for eight hoursMust be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit settingIn Turn We Will Provide:
